JAPANESE STARS PLAY IN A CHARITY MATCH
A number of Japanese football stars were involved in a charity match in to raise money for the Tsunami relief programs. Samurai Blue coach Alberto Zaccheroni fielded a strong side for the encounter in Osaka, including the likes of Inter full-back Yuto Nagatomo, Stuttgart attacker Shinji Okazaki and CSKA Moscow star Keisuke Honda.
The charity match was a resounding success and raised a large amount for the victims of the disasters and after the match Okazaki spoke of his emotions after the final whistle. Afterwards, the Japanese Football Shirts were auctioned off for charity too.
"I am alive now because the people around me helped me," he said referring to an earthquake that struck close to his hometown near Kobe in 1995. This time I want to help people as I experienced it. Today's game is the first step in giving back."
